Building Ventilation Assessment
Most IAQ problems are ventilation problems. A focused ventilation assessment isolates whether the building is delivering the design outdoor-air rate to the people who need it.
- Outdoor air rate measurement
- CO₂-decay ventilation effectiveness
- AHU and filter inspection
- Pressure regime check
- Comparison to CIBSE Guide A & TM40
- Capital and quick-win recommendations
What we assess
Design vs. delivered outdoor air rates per zone, AHU condition, filter grade and pressure differential, recirculation ratio, supply/extract balance, and zone pressure relationships. CO₂ decay tests verify actual ventilation effectiveness during occupancy.
Who needs this
Facility managers, property managers, HR and wellbeing leads, health & safety teams, workplace consultants and building owners dealing with occupant complaints, post-occupancy evaluation, refurbishment scoping, or BREEAM Hea 02 evidence requirements.
Deliverables
Per-zone ventilation effectiveness table, photographic AHU report, ranked upgrade list separating commissioning fixes from capital projects, and a CIBSE TM40 evidence pack where relevant.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you test smoke or fire dampers?
- Separate service — ask us for our regulated LEV/fire damper partner network.
- Can you assess natural ventilation?
- Yes. We use tracer-gas and CO₂-decay methods to characterise stack and cross-flow behaviour.
- Will you specify replacement equipment?
- We write vendor-neutral specifications your preferred M&E contractor can tender against.
